Steampunk in Metal

The August issue of Popular Mechanics is devoted to Steampunk machines - fantastic iron monsters constructed on the basis of steam technologies of the 19th century.

The editors of Popular Mechanics have constructed the first and only Russian biped steam robot using a Wilesco engine. This device works using the technology of the 19th century: it has a boiler with boiling water, a furnace, two steam cylinders, a whistle and a real flue. The robot consumes dry ethyl alcohol and synthetic engine oil. It takes at least 15 minutes to get it started.
