Popular Speakers at Science Festival
Popular Mechanics magazine presented its Popular Speakers at the Fifth Science Festival in the auditorium of the Polytechnical Museum on October 9.
Svetlana Borinskaya, candidate of biological science and leading member of the Vavilov Institute of General Genetics of the Russian Academy of Sciences, delivered a lecture entitled “Genes and human potential.” The speaker explained how genes express themselves in our lives, to what extent they determine the progress of diseases, what exactly is written in our genes and whether it is possible to alter our “genetic program.”
Science Festival participants demonstrated a great deal of interest in the Popular Speakers lecture topic and the large lecture hall of the Polytechnical Museum was filled to overflowing.
