Domashny Ochag has released “Meat & Poultry,” the fourth volume in its culinary series “Cooking is Easy!” A delicious roast straight from the oven, juicy steak, baked chicken, rack of lamb, fragrant beef stew — any of these dishes could adorn a family dinner or banquet.
In winter we traditionally eat heavy meat dishes to keep warm, but the new collection of recipes from Domashny Ochag helps add some variety to the usual winter menu, and presents new dishes for the February holidays. Leg of lamb, gammon, roast ribs or veal loin — any one of these recipes would be appropriate to serve on Feb. 23 for a Defender of the Fatherland day meal. What’s more, the volume includes a section with recipes for sauces for hot meat dishes.
The book opens with useful tips for budding chefs on how to select and prepare different types of meat, which seasonings, spices and herbs go best with meat dishes and what to make for a side dish.
