Popular Mechanics in September

The main story of the September issue of Popular Mechanics is the fate of Russia’s promising T-95 tank and other similar projects. Russia has come to a crossroads in tank production: Will we restrict ourselves to modernizing older models, or will we finally create a machine suitable for modern warfare? What type of tank does today’s army need? The cover story answers these questions.

In the "Science" section, PM invites readers to take an imaginary journey into a black hole and continues to examine the phenomenon of superconductivity.

Also in this issue:

Is it possible to store electricity with compressed air?;
Robocops: made in Russia;
The all-knowing drop of blood — forensics technologies;
Bytes vs. trytes: the history and prospects of ternary computers;
The correct way to sharpen knives: expert advice from a sharpening guru;
Water-jet engines: fun with a water plume.

Popular Mechanics also invites readers to attend the Old-timer Gallery of Ilya Sorokin at Crocus Expo from Sept. 15 to 17. Visitors to this unique exhibition will see vintage automobiles, books and antique weapons. They can also read the best back issues of Popular Mechanics and relax in the publication’s special lounge area.
