The Moscow Times, the leading English language newspaper in Russia, has launched a new video service on its website, www.themoscowtimes.com. Videos are uploaded to the homepage, and in the future they will be uploaded to a separate video server, which will be part of the newspaper-s website. The server will be used as a video archive where users can watch all available videos.

Such transformation into an interactive information source is vital for any mass medium which aspires to widen its boarders and attract new audience. Internet video is one of the essential parts of this transformation.

"Videos will help us visualize the articles and at the same time they will make the news more valuable", says Simon Saradjian, deputy of chief editor of The Moscow Times. Videos are planned changes aimed to upgrade the website and provide the readers with lots of quality information about Russian business and politics.
