Vedomosti Anti-Press Conference

The Vedomosti “Anti-Press Conference” was held at the Swissotel Krasnye Kholmy on January 26, 2010. Questions from representatives of real estate companies’ PR services and advertising departments were fielded by editorial staffers of the Vedomosti inserts Zhiloi Fund (Residential Properties), Steny Biznesa (The Walls of Business) and Zarubezhnaya Nedvizhimost (Overseas Real Estate). More than 80 representatives of major Russian developers, logistical companies, contractors’ organizations and real estate firms were in attendance.

The main players of the informational process switched places: those who customarily give interviews and write press releases themselves posed the questions. It turned out that they had accumulated quite a few. For more than one and a half hours, inserts editor-in-chief Sergei Zharkov, deputy editors Yelena Nikitina, Svetlana Danilova and Natalia Samarina, as well as publisher Maria Voloshina discussed the themes covered by the inserts, prospects for increasing the publications’ size and the objectivity of its material, as well as the possibility of special projects.

This was the second such event held in this format. The first anti-press conference was held in January 2008, and was also attended by representatives of firms that were potential advertisers in the “Real Estate” inserts.
