Agroinvestor Held Summer Business Conference
Agroinvestor magazine held its ninth federal Agroholding Russia business conference in Moscow. One of the main information events was the report on initial results of the 2011-12 agriculture accounting year, which ends on July 1, as well as methods for developing the agriculture sector for the 2012-13 season.
The conference was attended by more than 110 individuals from 20 regions of Russia and several foreign countries including the top managers of major agriholding companies, agribusinesses, suppliers of agricultural services and resources, private investors as well as financial and agribusiness analysts. Ingosstrakh acted as general sponsor to the conference, and Shchelkovo Agrokhim served as sponsor.
Conference participants discussed early forecasts for the 2012 harvest, prospects for developing agriculture in the upcoming season, the current state of capital markets and its impact on the cost and availability of financing agro-projects as well as the possible consequences of Russia joining the World Trade Organization and participating in a customs union. Top managers participating in a panel discussion on “Strategies for leadership on agricultural markets” evaluated the business climate for agribusiness, spoke about the current investment projects in their companies as well as possibilities for mergers and acquisitions, risk factors in agriculture investments and strategies for developing production of major agro-industries.
