On the Town in St. Petersburg for Esquire Weekend
Already a tradition in Moscow, the Esquire Weekend festival was held for the first time in St. Petersburg, attracting approximately 3,000 friends of the publication on June 15 at the Vasileostrovsky Market.
On that day, the music stage belonged to the legendary group Alliance, pianist Kirill Rikhter, the Loud and Vsigme groups, and the event’s headliner, the Shortparis team. In the Dialogue zone, Chief Editor Sergei Minaev spoke with comic Ilya Sobolev, Little Big group lead singer Ilya Prusikin, and restaurateur Aram Mnatsakanov. Those discussion topics were then reflected in a performance by artist and calligrapher Pokras Lampas, who also answered questions from Sergei Minaev.
Esquire handed the Masterpiece zone over to Street Art Museum resident Sergei Karev, who made it the site of eight red metal sculptures from his Infantry series. The food court in the Hunger zone hosted residents of the Vasileostrovsky Market and several Moscow projects.
