Custom Publishing Seminar

The Custom Publishing department of Independent Media Sanoma Magazines organized its first international seminar, which was called "Development of Custom Editions," in the Marriott Tverskaya Hotel on May 27.
The seminar addressed issues in the custom mass media and publications market. Finnish psychologist Marika Koskenkanto delivered a report on readers' preferences, including paper type, color palette, tactile sensation and others. Anna Ionova, director of 36'6 Prolife - Energy of Beauty and Health, is an old friend and partner of IMSM custom editions. She spoke about unique methods of attracting advertisers applied by the pharmaceutical chain 36'6.
"Mister Custom Publishing" Sak van den Boom, managing director of vdBJ/Communicatie Groep (one of the leading custom publishing companies in Holland) presented an interesting report on the global trends of custom publishing development. Erik Jones, creative director of Design studio Firebrand, (he had launched and rebranded such luxury editions as Vogue, Elle, GQ, Harper's Bazaar and others) told about the latest trends in design and magazine layouts and many other interesting things.
After the reports, the speakers answered questions. After the seminar all the participants continued communicating informally.
