Vedomosti Supports "Life Line"

On June 1, the joint project of the Vedomosti newspaper and the charitable program for saving infirm children "Life Line" started. The program renders assistance to children who need urgent and expensive medical treatment by obtaining funds from both private persons and companies.

"Life Line" was initiated by representatives of the Russian business community as well as the country's significant public figures. Companies such as Alfa Bank, TNK-BP Management, Vympelkom, Siberian coal energy company, Western Union, and Renaissance Capital, are participating in the program. Program management is carried out by the British Charities Aid Foundation's Russian representative office.

In the framework of the project, advertising modules urging readers to make contributions will appear on Vedomosti's pages for free twice a week. The newspaper also plans to inform its readers on money spending by publishing the program's reports.

The partnership with Vedomosti, whose audience has high social status, will help to develop effective mechanisms of financing the medical treatment for seriously ill children.
