Na Rublyovke celebrates its first anniversary

The Na Rublyovke glossy newspaper celebrated its first anniversary this June. In spring 2002, a new newspaper appeared at the restaurants, cafes, health clubs, business centers and elite neighborhoods along Rublyovo-Uspenskoye Shosse. Na Rublyovke is one of Independent Mediaуs newest projects, targeted to one of Moscowуs most affluent audiences: the inhabitants of the prestigious Rublyovke area. These are politicians, business people, actors, artists, scientists, designers, writers, producers and socialites п in a word, the best, without exaggeration, people in the
country.
With the launch of this glossy newspaper, Independent Media entered a new niche in the local press. Na Rublyovke writes about events that are important to the area and publishes local news: decisions made by local and federal authorities that affect the area; news about the real estate market; information about home and garden design; and reports about the opening of new shopping centers, stores, restaurants, and health and entertainment clubs. Research shows that the newspaperуs readers also want to read about where to spend free time in Moscow and where to go out at night. The newspaper reacts quickly to readersу interests and adds new columns.
In just one year of publishing, Na Rublyovke has attained some impressive results. It has created its own unique distribution system. New issues are delivered to elite neighborhoods along the Rublyovo-Uspenskoye Shosse, plus the newspaper is available in special branded stands at all cafes, restaurants, entertainment centers, hotels, beauty salons and supermarkets. Another major achievement was the newspaperуs change in its publishing schedule: at first Na Rublyovke came out twice per month, and today it is a weekly newspaper. But the most important evidence of the projectуs success is its circulation growth: in September 2002, in response to increased demand, the circulation was increased 30%!
On June 10, Na Rublyovke organized a presentation for representatives of advertising agencies which took place in 011 restaurant. During a welcoming speech, the editor-in-chief, Edward Dorozhkin, told the guests about the editorial life and plans for the future. Elizaveta Shkolnikova, Na Rublyovke publisher, presented data of the last audience research. According to research done by Business Analytica (March, 2003), the newspaper is read equally by both men and women. 34% of our readers are aged 18 to 30, 31% are aged 31 to 40, and 35% are older than 40. Approximately 72% of the audience is people who live along the Rublyovo-Uspenskoye Shosse, or who spend time there on the weekends at their country homes. 33% of our readers own their own business. Galina Ustinova, advertising sales director told the guests about new monthly reviews, which the newspaper has published since June. The evening ended with a nice dinner, when all the guests could talk in a more informal atmosphere.
