Leaders in Russian advertising, marketing and media have been honoured at an Advertising Ball on Saturday November 16th 2002. The Advertising Ball, which aims to raise funds for advertising education took place in the Marriott Grand Hotel.
The Marketing Russia Awards are some of the most sought-after for marketing industry excellence since they were established in January 1999 as тa morale boosterу for the industry battered by the August 1998 default. The Awards foster professional excellence and achievement.
This year Awards for small budget advertiser (less than $800,000 a year) and client of the year are being introduced. The Magazine of the Year is being split in two for menуs and womenуs titles. Awards for Newspaper, Radio and Television broadcaster of the year are being dropped.
Other Awards being made this year are for Advertiser of the Year, Business to Business Advertiser of the Year, Creative Advertising Agency of the Year, Marketing Agency of the Year and Advertising Film Producer of the Year, Awards within the domain of the President of Marketing Russia are Lifetime Achievement, Advertising Photographer and Media Innovator. The nominations were made By Marketing Russia staff in consultation with independent industry figures.
The Secretary of the Awards, Jim Sears conducted polling among the relevant departments of top advertisers and agencies to determine the winners in each category.
This year IM publication had a great success. Men's Health became Best Men's Magazine of the Year, FHM won second prize in the same nomination. Cosmo was awarded Women's Magazine of the Year.
