Esquire in October: Does Pelevin Exist?

The October issue of Esquire was made according to the precepts of Viktor Pelevin and is completely devoted to distorted reality. This includes book excerpts composed with AI that purport to be authored by a famous writer, photo features made using «deep fake» technology, fake news, fake investigations and Sergei Minaev’s fake interview with American Psycho author Bret Easton Ellis – who is widely known never to give interviews. 

But not everything in this issue is fake: the featured individual is real. Editors invite readers to determine for themselves what is true and what is fiction.
