Esquire’s Kitchen Cogitation
Esquire magazine took part in the 10th International Exhibition of Intellectual Non-Fiction Literature that was held in Moscow from November 25 to 30, and presented the special project, “The Esquire Kitchen.”
Each day, poet and writer Lev Semyonovich Rubinstein invited his friends and Esquire staff writers Tatiana Tolstaya, Lyudmila Ulitskaya, Artemy Troitsky, Grigory Burskin and Alexander Genis to the Esquire Kitchen. Semyonovich served his guests vodka, herring and Russian salad, sang songs and led real kitchen-style discussions on art, literature and politics.
Next to the “Esquire Kitchen” was a comfortable “office” where visitors to the exhibition could purchase both new and archival issues of Esquire, as well as subscribe to the magazine.
