New Appointments at National Geographic

Irina Kovalevich, co-publisher and advertising director of National Geographic Russia and National Geographic Traveler, has now become the publisher of both magazines.

Advertising manager Veronika Dery was appointed director of advertising for National Geographic Russia and National Geographic Traveler.

Tatiana Shalygina, Independent Media Sanoma Magazines publishing house Board of Directors member and director general of United Press, will continue to oversee the National Geographic Russia and National Geographic Traveler projects as director.

Kovalevich graduated from the Maurice Thorez Moscow State Linguistic University. She has worked with the Independent Media Sanoma Magazines publishing house since 1998, starting off as senior manager for advertising for Cosmopolitan magazine, and later becoming the director of advertising sales for the publication. In 2003, Kovalevich became publisher of Cosmopolitan Beauty, and in 2006, the publisher of Cosmopolitan Shopping. In November 2006, she was appointed co-editor of National Geographic Russia, and then National Geographic Traveler, and until April 2010 she combined the post of co-publisher and advertising director of both magazines.

Veronika Dery graduated from the International Economic Relations Department of Moscow State Open University. She began working as advertising manager for Gala magazine in 2004. In 2008 she became the advertising manager of National Geographic Russia and National Geographic Traveler magazines issued by Independent Media Sanoma Magazines publishing house.
