National Geographic Russia Brings Dinosaurs to Life

Viewers of all ages will be immersed in the world of the Cretaceous period at National Geographic’s exhibit at the Culture Center until October 29. There, the roar of velociraptors and sound of pterodactyls flying fills the air as the heavy footsteps of tyrannosauruses cause the ground to rumble. Visitors can pose for photos or videos with the dinosaurs and receive them by e-mail or share them on social networks.

The project also includes the opening of the Planet of Contrasts photo exhibition featuring 60 works by Russian and foreign photographers illustrating a world full of complete opposites and amazing similarities: a giant whale in the ocean and a tiny ladybug in the grass, lifeless deserts and flowering meadows, cold northern rivers and streams of red-hot lava, barren cliffs and densely populated megacities. And, if you look closely, you’ll be able to see a butterfly’s wing in a stellar constellation and our whole planet in a drop of morning dew.

The project appears in the Culture Center in the food court’s Vkusny Bulvar on the first floor of the Mega Khimki shopping mall. It runs through October 29. Address: Moscow region, Khimki, IKEA micro district, building 2. Operating hours: Monday–Thursday, 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m., and Friday and Saturday, 10:00 a.m. to midnight. Admission is free.
